91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ Market Opening Supports Student Well-Being

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Santa Clara, California - 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ College's campus buzzed with excitement on Tuesday, December 5, as 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ Market officially opened its doors, reaffirming the institution's steadfast dedication to student well-being.
In collaboration with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley, 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ Market's ongoing initiative provides students with a weekly opportunity to replenish their pantries with fresh produce, vegetables, and essential kitchen items. Boasting a diverse array of offerings, including fresh produce, kitchen staples, fruits, and vegetables, 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ Market addresses the multifaceted needs of the student community.
Despite conservative projections of 100-150 students during the first week, the 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ Market team served nearly 100 students on the inaugural day, underscoring the critical need for such a resource on campus.
"We are thrilled by the overwhelming response on Day 1 of 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ Market," said Connor Keese, Director of Outreach & Student Development at 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ College. "We are committed to continuous improvement and welcome feedback from our students. Their experiences and insights are invaluable in refining our operations."

In addition to its commitment to 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ Market's success, 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ College is dedicated to supporting students comprehensively through its 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ Cares program, ensuring they have the resources needed for success. Students facing challenges related to food, access to technology, emergency financial needs, mental health, or housing assistance are encouraged to visit the 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ Cares website at missioncares.missioncollege.edu for more information.
"We are not just providing groceries; we are building a community of support. 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ College is here for our students, and 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ Market is just one facet of our commitment to their success," 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ College President Dr. Seher Awan said.
The opening of the 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ Market is the most recent expansion of the college’s longstanding partnership with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley. A weekly food distribution takes place in 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§â€™s Lot A every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., providing essential resources to students and community members in need. The 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ Market is reserved for students, while weekly distribution in Lot A open to community.
Operating from Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., 91¹û¶³ÖÆƬ³§ Market is conveniently located at the Campus Center.
