Promise Program

The 91¹û¶³ÖÆÆ¬³§ Promise Program serves first-year, degree-seeking students who want to graduate from 91¹û¶³ÖÆÆ¬³§ within three years. The program provides academic counseling, free tuition & books, career exploration opportunities, and workshops to support your timely graduation

As a participant in the 91¹û¶³ÖÆÆ¬³§ Promise Program, you will:

Program Expectations

Students accepted into the program are expected to:
  • Complete a financial aid application each academic year.
  • Enroll full-time (12 or more units) every semester while in the program.
  • Maintain academic progress with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  • Declare a major within their first year at 91¹û¶³ÖÆÆ¬³§.
  • Create a Comprehensive Student Education Plan during their first year.
  • Meet regularly with a counselor, as required each semester.
  • Participate in assigned program activities, workshops, and tutoring.
  • Register for English and Math courses in the first year, as outlined in the Student Education Plan.

Eligibility Information

To qualify for the 91¹û¶³ÖÆÆ¬³§ Promise Program, students must:
 
  • Be committed to full-time enrollment at 91¹û¶³ÖÆÆ¬³§ throughout the program (at least 12 units per semester).
  • Plan to earn an associate's degree from 91¹û¶³ÖÆÆ¬³§.
  • Be a California resident or have attended a California high school, GED program, or adult continuation program.
  • Be a first-time college student (college courses taken while in high school do not count as prior college enrollment).
